Engage at
St. Thomas
At St. Thomas, there are so many ways to engage—and we want to help you find your place. To us, “engage” means stepping into the life of the church through:
-
Lifelong Learning – for adults, youth, and children
-
Fellowship – building community and sharing life together
-
Serving – offering time and gifts, big or small
Engagement is at the heart of who we are. It’s what brings us together and reminds us why we are the Body of Christ. Every role—whether seen or unseen—matters. Together, we sustain the life of our church and live out our calling in Christ.
Small Acts, Spacious Hearts:
Ways to Engage in 2026
This Advent, we’re making room — for rest, for renewal, and for the small acts of love that shape our life together. As we prepare our ministry schedule for January through July 2026, we’re inviting the congregation into a gentle season of reflection on their ministry and serving at St. Thomas:
What brought you joy this past fall?
What season are you in now?
What might you be ready to lay down… or try for the first time?
There’s no pressure and no perfect answer.
You can stay right where you are, serving exactly as you are.
You can say, “I need to rest,” and that will be honored.
You can say, “I tried something new, and it wasn’t quite the right fit.”
And you can say, “I’m ready to step into something new.”
Every role, large or small, matters — and your presence helps shape our life together.
As we plan for the months ahead, we’d love to hear how you feel called to engage in this next season.
A Few Spots Where Your Presence Would Truly Help
As we look toward our January–July 2026 schedule, a few ministries would be especially blessed by a little added support. These roles have been held with such care by a small number of people, and even one or two more stepping in would be a true gift.
If one of these roles resonates with you — even as a one-time commitment — we’d be grateful.
-
Youth and Children Sunday School - Second Adult - 9:30–10:15 a.m.
Just come hang out with our youth — the lessons are covered, you get to enjoy the fun.
-
Altar Guild - Help prepare the altar for Sundays — a quiet, beautiful ministry of welcome.
-
Bulletin Buddies - Families who enjoy welcoming others by handing out bulletins on Sundays are invited to join this simple, joyful ministry.
What Are Your Next Steps?
Try something new. Rest as you need to. Stay right where you are. Or step into one of the roles that need a little more help as we plan for Spring–Summer 2026.
As we look ahead to the spring, here are a few seasonal opportunities that only come around once a year. You may have already signed up back in August at Rally Day, or you may have missed them completely — so we wanted to place them on your mind as they approach:
-
Annual Easter Egg Hunt (Easter Day) — donating candy, stuffing eggs, or hiding eggs
-
Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper — shopping, prepping, flipping pancakes, or helping with cleanup
-
Fellowship Groups That Are Growing — our Young Adults Group with Rev. Brian, which is meeting monthly and would love to add your name to the list

If you’re exploring Lifelong Learning and Fellowship, click here.
And if you’re happy right where you are through the end of the summer — that’s wonderful too.
I’ll begin creating the new schedules by the end of December, so please let me know as soon as you’re able by clicking one of the links above or emailing me at engage@stthomasbcs.org.
If you’d like to talk through any of this, I’m always here. Sometimes the next right step becomes clearer in conversation, and I’m grateful to help you discern what fits your season.
Warmly,
Aneya Elbert
