Since 1964, our Early Learning Center has provided education for children and parents during those crucial years from three years old through first grade. From a small beginning class of kindergartners only, we have grown to a current enrollment of 122 students with a staff of 22.
As a Christian school, we worship and learn of God in scripture and nature, as well as through our common humanity. Using a developmental philosophy of education, we do not rush children. Rather we seek to make each year so rich and full that growth and progress are truly appropriate to the age and individual. We are committed to stressing academic and social growth without threat of punishment.
With the exception of our first grade class, children attend half day classes with extended care available. Weekly Chapel services, music, art, gardening and outdoor education add to the richness of each childŐs time at the Early Learning Center.
St. Thomas Early Learning Center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and is a member of the National Association of Episcopal Schools and the Southern Association of Episcopal Schools.
