Convivencia:  The Three Worlds of Medieval/Renaissance Spain — September 11, 2011

St. Thomas joined with Institute of Interfaith Dialog, Hillel Foundation, & Raindrop Turkish House to commemorated the 10th Anniversary of 9/11 with a concert by the Texas Early Music Project, an art display & reception.

Texas Early Music Project presents the concery

The concert was presented by the Texas Early Music Project. It feature Sephardic and Middle-Eastern songs and dances, along with 16th century Spanish polyphony for voices and instruments. Featured performers included recorder player Annette Bauer (Germany), santur and oud player Kamran Hooshmand (Iran), outstanding instrumentalists on psaltery, viols, Renaissance guitar, and other instruments of the period, and an octet of singers. The award-winning Texas Early Music Project is under the direction of founder and Artistic Director Daniel Johnson.
