Mortgage Burning: October 11, 2009

Sunday was a great day for St. Thomas. First we celebrated a grand accomplishment for our parish: we have paid off the entire debt on our 1994 sanctuary! In the 10:30 service, David Woodcock told us about the history of our beautiful church, and immediately afterward we all joined in a mortgage burning where everyone in attendance dropped their symbolic portion of the sanctuary mortgage (a document labeled "PAID IN FULL") into a blazing fire, accompanied by a rousing blessing from Mother Lisa.
