As part of our Rector Search Process, about 60 members of the parish gathered to re-affirm our mission statement & core values that were first enumerated in 2004.
Led in our discussions by Mary Parmer, we updated the original 6 core values and added a new one: Stewardship.
Mission Statement: To Know Christs Love and To Make It Known To this end
- We foster spiritual growth;
- We respect, nurture, and support each other; and
- We share our gifts in this community and the wider world.
As a Church, our identity is based on seven core values.
| Worship |
As expressed through our liturgy, our music, our prayer and our joyful celebration of the Holy Eucharist. |
 |
| Love for One Another |
As expressed in the support of the rector in pastoral care. We know, love, respect, care for and nurture individuals and families within our congregation. |
 |
| Service and Outreach |
As expressed through our daily service to one another, to our congregation, the community, the diocese, our nation and the world. |
 |
| Acceptance |
As expressed in following the example of Jesus Christ by welcoming with open hearts and minds, and without judgment, all those who seek to know God. |
 |
| Christian Education |
As expressed through our active participation as teachers and students in our educational programs and facilities:
Nursery, Early Learning Center, Sunday School, Children’s Chapel, Vacation Bible Camp, Sacramental Instruction, Confirmation, Episcopal Youth Community, Bible Studies, Adult Christian Education, and small groups.
|
 |
| Youth Development |
As expressed through our long history of commitment to children beginning with the ELC, and extending through Canterbury. We plant the seeds of faith, hope and charity in our children with the prayer that as they scatter in the world, the love and fellowship of the Holy Spirit will be carried forward in miraculous ways and that the Episcopal Church will remain a growing part of their lives. |
 |
| Stewardship |
As expressed in the recognition that all that we have comes from God. We intentionally and joyfully commit our time, talent, and treasure to God’s work. Recognizing our Christian responsibility to love God, our neighbors, and creation, we take actions to protect and restore God’s creation and to promote human dignity and justice. |
